This article doesn't exactly paint auburn in a good light, but the only line in it that I read that could be dismissed as mere speculation was that "Gus had told sources that Texas would be his dream job"
Fact is, the last 3 coaches auburn has had have been fired within 3 seasons of going undefeated. You can take that for what it's worth or get mad and pout cause somebody printed it or ignore it or whatever you want, but it won't change it.
I wouldn't be surprised if auburn went 14-0 next season and I wouldn't be surprised if they went 7-6. Look how unstable and unpredictable they have been in the past 10 years and tell me how anybody could argue with what Thamel wrote.
Y'all got like 4 writers to churn out fluff-pieces and sugar coated stuff about auburn, but when they do something big enough that the national guys write about them everybody always pouts up cause it don't sound like what Phillip marshal writes about them.
EDIT: It was 4 years from when Tuberville went undefeated until he was fired. I think 2 years apiece for those other two clowns........ Of course they tried to fire Tommy before the 2004 season too so he kinda got it twice.
