Thamel doesn't try to hide his dislike of AU and tries to stir the shat pot every chance he gets. No one gives him any credence.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I am a die hard Bama fan,and I don't want him to go.He is a good coach and has done wonders at Auburn, and for anyone to want him to leave is ridiculous,I would personally want Bama to play the best any team has,to be the best you have to beat the best.....
I would rather be turkey hunting

If, as expected, Texas hires the Gus Bus away, would the barn give Ellis Johnson a shot at head coach?

Rumor is that Saban is going to Texas.....if you really want to talk legit rumors. If the number floating around is accurate, he'd be a fool not to!

In the past, the source of most of Thamel's info has been Urban Meyer, but Urban has no motive in distracting AU, so it must be true.

Im not saying that Gus (or anyone) wouldn't consider the UT job....I just think the garbage he posted wasn't true. I think Auburn has had less head coaches than several SEC shcools (included UA). To say that we grind them up is just ridiculous.
For those who say "you can't sustain it"...Auburn could be playing for it's second in 3 years.
How many has UT played for in 20?

I don't recall Bama firing a trophy winner as quickly as CGC.

Wow, in less than one full season Gus has already bumped Saban from the coveted "Leaving for Texas" spot. Impressive Mr Malzhan. Impressive. LOL!
If he wanted that job and took it I would be sad to see him go but would wish him well. In the end you always have to do what's best for you and your family.
But I wouldn't form a search committee to replace him just yet based on anything Pete Thamel says. Every time somebody lets him within 3 feet of an internet access point he takes the opportunity to log on and say something sh###y about Auburn. I'd sooner let a hooker borrow my credit card than trust his word.

Absolutely, Todd. And it is mighty funny that the fan base that is clinging to it the hardest is the one that's coach has already admitted to having contact with Texas. Not to mention his wife saying that he was appreciated by the fan base. AND, he just lost the Iron Bowl..... LOL

Ah...the duality of bAUrners. We know good and well that if Saban left you would all would be in here saying he was just chasing money and never cared about being at Alabama. Malzahn on the other hand loves Auburn and is just doing what is best for his family and they can respect that. SMDH. Auburn fans are the most gracious, smartest, classy & best fan base in the country...just ask them...they'll tell you! LOL!

Last time I checked Texas was in the top 25 and Mack still has a job. But if Gus wants to jump ship and head to Texas for possible greener pastures then we will thank him for his time and success and move on. We can't force someone to stay if he doesn't want to. I hope it doesn't come to this and hope he feels like Auburn is the place he wants to stay. Meanwhile, I will continue to support Auburn through whatever lies ahead. Bring on Mizzou! WDE!

After Saturday, I hope Saban and Malzahn stick around for a while. We just might have some more unbelievable games.

What on Earth are you talking about, Skully????
I have not heard any AU fan say that it would be a character flaw for Saban to leave. Only Bama fans sayin there is no way that he would. I could care less either way.
But, the simple fact is, he has been in communications with Texas and his agent has said that he would be interested in the job. And, his past has shown a tendency to change jobs periodically. Nothing 'bad' about that.

You must not know many Auburn fans then hAUggie. Spend a little time scrolling the archives. I couldn't care less what Auburn fans think but what I posted is a pretty common theme from bAUrners.
