I was wondering this as well.thurs morning was the first time my feet have ever gotten that cold.I put on 3 pairs of socks.I think it was all the wet mud that turned to ice and basically was freezing my feet in my boots.I had to take off my shoes and warm up my feet in my hands it was so bad.I noticed the tighter my boots the colder they got so i wore 1 pair of socks today and put walmart bags on my boots to keep the wet mud off.Worked like a charm.Didnt get cold this morning.I have Gore tex boots so they are waterproof but the mud is so bad it gets on them real heavy and freezes sitting still.
