The estrous bleat can is very effective if used during the rut. If you use it at the wrong times, you'll never get good results. It would be the equivelant of blowing your car horn in your driveway at midnight.
With that being said, I used the can to bring a couple of small bucks in last year during the rut. I did not use it until I heard other grunting.
I got "the Can" fever a few years ago. I used it during the rut and called several small bucks in. The only shooter I used it on took off like he was stuck with a hot poker. I've heard several others say they had the same experience. I threw the can down through the woods, never again! I'll stick to hunting near real does during the breeding period, if they make bleats, they'll be real.
