Curious how you guys can sit for so long in these low temps.. What's your secret?
I'm using gander sock liners and hunting socks.. 800 grm lacrosse boots.. After about 3.5 hours my toes are going numb.. What am I doing wrong

How much room you have in your boots? They fit tight or loose? You need room for the heat off your body to circulate and your feet wil stay warm. If you boots are tight, it doesnt matter if you have 2000gr your feet will freeze. Always go a half size or size bigger. Get a good moisture wicking sock and you will be good to go.

I went a half size bigger.. My liner socks must be sub par.. Is there a particular brand that's the go..

I work outside all day. I have found changing socks at lunch or when feet are extremely cold seems to help. I have changed socks after walking to my stand. The dry socks seam to help. Not wearing your boots in the truck will also help keep themn in the cab and warm for sure. I wear crocks when driving to hunt. It works sometimes.

Hand warmers or the stick on foot warmers work really well. My feet are about the only thing that didn't freeze this morning.

Arctic Shield boot blankets. I could hunt in nikes as long as I have these. Best 30 bucks I ever spent.

Keep your feet dry, dry, dry! After being a soldier for 25 years I can tell you that your feet are the #1 priority for anyone making a living on their feet. I have poor circulation in my feet and hands and I can't stand having cold feet!

I change my sock & shoes when I get to the woods. I wear tennis shoes on the drive out, then change out there. I rub baby powder on my feet to dry them, then put on a polypropylyne socks against the skin and a heavy wool sock over that. My hunting boots are a full size larger than my regular boots and shoes so the blood flows and the trapped air can circulate. When it gets extra cold (relative to each hunter), I put quilted overboots over my boots once I get seated in the stand...never while I'm walking. During those extra cold days, I carry and extra pair of polypro socks (or just use simple nylon dress socks). After a few hours, I take the socks off, rub my feet to get the blood flowing again, powder my feet again, put on the dry polypro or nylon sock and put the original wool socks back on. After that they feel great!

Lastly, when really cold, I throw a foot warmer pack in each overboot. Hope this helps.

If your cold feet stem from your feet sweating on the way to your stand, use an unscented spray anti perspirant on your feet the night before as well as the morning of. This along with the liners and thick socks on top, should fix your problem. It did mine anyway.

I use 1200 gram Thinsulate Rocky Buckstalker rubber boots, one pair of Under Armour Cold Gear socks and Toastie Toes. I was out in 17 degree weather today for over two hours and my toes did not get cold at all. Been using this system for several years and have not had cold feet.

Saturday I spent 4 hours, 20 feet up a tree in 20 degree temps with a 20 MPH north wind in my face and it was absolutely brutal. I was losing heat through my neck and thighs and I was having a really hard time coping. But ... my feet were toasty thanks to these ...

I used to have the cold toes problem until I discovered under armour cold gear socks and hot hands toe warmers. Now my feet are more likely to sweat than get cold.

If I'm on stand I put on a pair of "Bear feet" I think they're called. Like huge, insulated socks that go over your boots. Never get cold feet with these on. Must've had these for 20 yrs. now.

Where are y'all hunting to get so cold? 800 grams of thinsulate will keep a cup of coffee warm for 7 days.

I put on boot blankets when it's really cold, put a hand warmer in each one and my feet are warm. I've found that its best to put the boot blankets on as soon as I get settled in my stand while my feet are still warm. If I wait till my feet start getting cold it does me little good to put them on.

I did pretty much the exact thing last sunday when it was 20degrees and windy as all get out and my normal hiking boots were sufficient for the 2 hours I sat before my kill. Keep them loose and keep dry socks. GO SLOW when hiking to your stand, sweat is the enemy.

I wear a good quality moisture wicking sock with a cotton ankle high sock over the top. Change socks mid day and I wear un-insulated lacrosse boots. As stated earlier.....wet, sweaty feet are what makes them cold. I have in the past used the tube part of a sock that was cut off to slip over the end of my boot with a hand warmer under it (on top of the boot).

Buy some of the aforementioned boot blankets and some socks that are at least 80% merino wool. Put the boot blankets on as soon as you sit down and don't wait for your feet to get cold
