Remington 742 Woodsmaster Carbine my Grandfather left me when he passed in '94. Never been fired.

A Marlin Glenfield 30-30 my mom bought my dad back in 74. Also a Remington 700/.308 my step dad bought me several years ago. I still use the Marlin as my tree stand/woods gun & the .308 as my long range weapon. I couldn't imagine ever needing or wanting any other rifles to hunt with.

I remember two rifles from my boyhood. One is a Schultz and Larsen that belonged to a family friend. It was given to me two years ago. The other is a S&W modelA 308 that belongs to my daddy. I hope its a long time before it is in my safe.

Winchester Model 97 (12 ga), Winchester Model 12 (12 ga), Winchester Model 70 (.308), Winchester Model 61 (22 mag). all belonged to long deceased uncles.

I have a 742 jammaster in 30-06 that my grandfather bought new in I believe was 68.I have killed so many deer with it that I have lost count.Many a box of shells have gone through her and she still hasnt lived up to the models reputation.The gun fits me so well and is so natural that I honestly dont remember aiming at the last several deer I have killed with it. Now that's a gun!

My first shotgun was a Stephen I believe, .410, bolt action with a tube magazine (like a 22), my dad bought me in 1978. It's sitting in the safe. I don't know how many squirrels and doves its killed but enough to feed an army.
The second is a Winchester lever action 22 mag that he bought new in the 60's. I've had the stock refinished and the barrel and receiver re-blued, and it looks like a brand new, much like when he gave it to me.
Third gun he gave me, is a Remington 7400 243. I haven't shot it in a while, but my wife and son have killed quite a few deer with it over the past several years. I'm not sure of the date but it was the first year that the 7400's were released.
Anything worth doing, is worth doing right, or it's not worth doing at all!

I've got an old stevens single shot .410 & a H&R .32 that belonged to my great granddad, and a Winchester 30-30 & a Ruger 10-22 that were my granddad's. I horse trade guns a lot, but those 4 won't ever leave my possession till I leave this world.

My Grandmother gave me my Granddad's childhood 22 single shot bolt action after he passed. She gave it to me over her own son. I have always had a very special place in my grandmothers heart. I was about 12 or 13 and I thought it was the best thing anyone had ever given me then and still do! When my grandfather was a boy he put the only meat that was going to be on the table with this rifle. It is stamped "Witte Hdwe Co. St. Louis, MO. EXPERT" I think it was made by Savage for them back in the days when every store had a gun department. I think it is circa 1930-1940's.
Does anyone know what this gun sold for new? It is PRICELESS to me!

I'm sure most of you do, but if you don't, get a safe to keep those guns in. I lost my family keep sake guns a couple of years ago when we got robbed. Lost an old Browning take down 22, old beat up Ithaca pump, and a single shot 410 that all meant the world to me. They can have the benelli, other brownings, etc... just wish I had my juke guns back. You don't really know what they mean to you until they are gone.

For me it's a High Standard Sentinel 22LR revolver. First gun I ever shot, and I hit what I was aiming at the first time! Dad always carried that gun on the dash of his work truck wrapped in a rag, and I was always after him to let me shoot it whenever we were in the woods (dad was a logger, so I was ALWAYS after him!  ). When dad passed away my brother and I split up his guns. There was no way I was letting my brother have that revolver! It sits in my gun safe right now, and I'm smiling thinking about the memories!

Mine is a Rem 700 in 8mm mag. The gun has killed everything from Brown bear in Alaska, Elk in Montana and Wyoming, Moose in Canada, Mule deer in wyoming, Doll sheep, caribou, whitetails in Canada and many other critters over the last 40yrs.
My grandfather willed the gun to me a few years ago, yet he still hunts with it. Well he did, it's currently lost somewhere in customs we believe in Chicago along with a 2K$ pair of Swarovski binocs. Last seen a month ago when switching planes to go to Sask. Never made it to its destination and they have no clue where it might currently be.
I'm sick to say the least. At least I was able to kill a deer with that rifle last year so he and I do have that small bond together with that gun.
Lucky for me that at least I still have him around though.

Pretty much all of the guns I got when my dad died. Some are mult-generational guns, some are ones that he bought and used for years, and some are ones that I had given to him as gifts over the years. Of course my son already considers all of them his, which I hope they will be some day.

I have the first real gun I ever shot, an old H&R .410 single shot that belonged to my grandfather. It's not really sentimental but I'm pretty fond of an old Winchester .22 single shot I bought off a shady character in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Alabaster.

Mine is an old 12 guage Wingmaster with 26" improved cylinder barrel. I've killed dove, quail, rabbit, squirrel, deer and pheasants with it. My dad bought it used for $50 or $60 when I was about 16 (42 years ago). He didn't hunt then so I bought it or traded him out of it somehow. Until I bought a Mossberg turkey gun last year it's the only shotgun I have used since I got it other than trying an over and under for pheasants in South Dakota a few years ago. I went back to my Wingmaster the next day. Great gun, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
