Even after the cold snap last week (lows in 20's) the evil bastages are still out. I got covered up Friday evening dragging my sons doe. Chigger x is pretty good but they still itch

last time i went fishing(beginning of summer) i got into some chiggers which caused me to do a lil research..all my life i heard that that burrow into your skin. and to put clear finger nail polish on to smother them..come to find out they dont actually burrow into skin..i used golds medicated lotion..it seemed to help a lil.

Worse thing i ever had was chiggers. Would rather have the damn flu! me too, I had probably 200 on the backs of legs and in some bad spots a couple of years ago. Straight misery for about 3 days. Nothing really relieves the itch except time. It changed my attitude about going in the woods with spraying down first.

Had a bad problem with them when I was younger. My dad made me start bathing with Octagon soap after my hunting, fishing and blackberry picking outings. Don't know what it was about that soap, but if I bathed as soon as I got home, no chiggers or red bugs. Don't know if it would work for everyone, but it's definitely worth a try. It's like bathing with sandpaper, so maybe that and the smell is why it works.

i could find them in a parking lot the size of the sahara. Shave the hair, coat with clear finger nail polish 2x's per day for 3 days. It will killem

Went a week last time before i couldnt take it anymore and used the polish TC. I looked like I had try to scratch my way out of the 7 year itch in 7 days.

The polish helps not to scratch your legs until they bleed. The chiggers are not in the red bumps, they're already gone. They bite and leave and then turn into redbugs, thats the second stage of their life cycle.

Chigger x is pretty good but they still itch Lol� I live in Tuscaloosa County also and deal with them on our hunting land. Two things� spray bottoms of pants legs/boots with something containing deet and it will help (don't forget beltlines and shirtlines also) and if you get bit, use some Cool Mint Listerine to sooth the itch. Don't know what it is in that type of Listerine (other flavors don't work), but it's the ONLY thing I've ever used that killed the itch. Will say this� I turkey hunting in Western Kentucky last year and got covered over by ticks. I'd much rather deal with chiggers here in AL than the ticks up in KY� they were a beast!

Same here. it looked like someone shot me in my " lower unit" area with buckshot about 10 times.lol
Id be screwed. One decent sized chigger bite and I couldnt find it to pee.

I know clorox is a big joke on here now but if you but 3 or 4 cups in a tub of hot water and soak for a little while it will stop the itching and kill them. No kidding, been doing it all my life.

Checked cameras one morning. Went to work that night and my chest and back was intching all night. Few hours later I was sick at my stomach. Got home and took my bullet proof vest off and over 60 just on my chest and stomach. Ankles ate up and back. I was miserable.

Yep� anywhere on the body that is compressed (under socks, belts, etc.) and holds more heat, they migrate there quickly.
