That's all well and good but your playing Russian roulette with your dogs life if you let it roam free. I'll be the first to cry about my dogs death if it happens to me but I'll also know that I could have done something to prevent it and not leave it up to the callousness of another.
One thing most old timer, country folk were/are good at is keeping in perspective the animal/human relationship. One of them supersedes the other and most hard core country folk are as matter of fact about it as me writeing it.
