I had a coon come in on me about 7:30. I swapped arrows and waited for him to get a little closer. About the time I'm ready to draw, I hear foot steps about 100 yds away. I swap arrows again and can see a herd of deer 75 yds off in the hollow. They all fed on acorns for about 40 minutes before crossing the creek just out of bow range. There ended up being 5 does and fawns and one spike in the group

Gotta love some some public hunting just had a fellow hunter come sneaking by about 30 yards away. I couldnt help but smile. Hell we all been there. I hollared at him and after a few moments of him looking around I waved so he knew where I was at and he backed back out.

Hunted Wheeler Refuge in a strip of woods between two fields. Plenty of squirrels playing, but no deer moved thorough this a.m. Plenty of trucks at the gate.

I'm sitting in a hardwood bottom with some pines mixed in. Hoping to see some bucks a little later this evening.

Well, I jumped 8 does getting to my stand. Tried to stalk them and them missed a 40 yard shot. Hope they come back. Now I am in my stand 100 yards from there.
