After many years of bow hunting and never killing a deer or even hitting one I shot and killed my first deer with a bow Saturday evening. It happened so fast that I didn't have a chance to get nervious and I made a great shot. The arrow made a pass through and I couldn't find any blood. The arrow was covered with bright red blood. I continued to look for blood till dark and I wnet and ask a buddy if he would help me find my deer. He had some friends that have hog hunting dogs and they had one dog that had recovered several deer for them in the past. After looking with the dog for another hour we gave up on the search. Sunday morning I went back to the spot and started looking for her again. Around 6 am I found her in a knee deep cudzo patch. She had only gone 50 yard from where I had shot her. I am hooked and can't wait for a chance at a buck!

Congrats! The man above can attest to this I believe; the bucks, mainly mature bucks, don't come so often or easy. They sure are fun/aggravating to hunt with a stick and string. I could've killed a NICE buck Saturday evening with a gun, but it was just too late to see him through my peep. Good luck from here on out.

one more addict. Its more fun than pulling the trigger any day of the week. most of them are quick but I have sat and watched a deer feed for 30 minutes before drawing back on her. glad you found the deer!
