I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with a quail preserve here in Alabama? Good or bad. I have hunted with the folks at Springbank Plantation and would recommend them to anyone wanting to hunt in Georgia. My wife and I are pretty active deer hunters but I would not mind taking a break during the "December lull" and scheduling a quail hunt. Thanks for your input.

I went yesterday to xtreme whitetail adventures in Oneonta, AL.
I would highly recommend giving them a try. Ask for Eugene as a guide too, great guy. We had a very successful day, and the pricing was relatively reasonable. Also, you may get to see some of their deer in the fields driving in. We had a 160+ deer stand 30 yards from the truck and just stare at us!

Dang, sounds like I need to book a deer hunt! I'll check them out too. Glad to hear you had a successful hunt. Do their birds fly good? I would like to go on a native quail hunt but the travel would be too much for a one day hunt.

They fly pretty good, I think it would have been better if it wasn't so hot yesterday. They were doing a lot of running.

Call Danny at Circle W in Heflin.
Or
Call Jeff at North Alabama Hunting Preserve in Section.

I can give you either of their cell numbers if you like.

Yea, that is why I want to do a December hunt. We always seem to go at the end of the season when it starts to warm up or rain.

Great Southern Outdoors in Bullock county has a great quail operation down there. I would give them a look.

I have hunted with Mr. Moore over there a few times and have always had a great time. Not a fancy operation, but he has great dogs and nice area to hunt.

I haven't hunted there yet, but I hear a lot of good things about Colvin Davis's operation near Braggs. Davis Quail Hunts

Thanks for all of the info guys. Looks like I have a few to choose from. Looking for a good outfit where the birds get up quick and the dogs are fun to watch. I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I do. Nice break from sitting still and quiet for long periods of time.

For a great hunt, good flying birds, good meals, and all the birds you can shoot check out old spring hill plantation in union springs. Bar none the best quail shoot I've ever been a part of and to top it off great folks.

Maple Ridge in Cullman County. His dogs work great, but the birds didn't fly good. Almost had to kick them to get them up and when they would fly it wasn't far.
