Vintage (or antique) shotguns are another favorite firearm for to collect and shoot. (cool shotgun, Clem !)
Dad just passed down his US mdl. 11 Remington (WW2) semi-auto to me. He's owned the shotgun since 1950. This shotgun model has an interesting history..and everyone thinks it's a Browning at first sight. It came with an 18" barrel but he bought an extra 30" full choke barrel for it, also. The fore-stock developed a small split and dad bought a new one. I repaired the original piece with wood glue and clamps. All else is near perfect.
I bought a nice Winchester mdl. '98 field grade with a 30" barrel back in 1999. I love that old Winchester ! It's a 'take down' model...made in 1917. I killed my last gobbler with my Winchester '98 on my mother's land: 21 lbs., 10" beard. I really wanted a US model Winchester '98 w/a riot barrel but the prices were astronomically high for a good markings/cartouches.
