My son killed a doe Saturday afternoon and when got ready to clean the doe at the cleaning shed, I recalled there was a wasp nest inside the cabinet last year. So we cautiously opened the cabinet that is mounted on a post and sure enough a next with at least 25-30 big red wasp. Looked around and found the can that used last year to spray and it was still half full, took care of that problem. Then we flip over the large metal tub for hauling off the guts and low and behold a big black widow. I do not like spiders, especially Black Widows. Upon closer examination, we noticed over 10 more male and female black widows. We sprayed them with the left over wasp spray and then decided to turn over the second tub. There were over 50 there. An entire commune of spiders, 6 big females and several males and then 100's of little tiny spiders, freaked me out.

This is the time of the year to find them. Turn over all those old flower pots and other odd things laying around and you will be amazed at how many you find.

Flip 'em over instead of grabbing under the lip, too, if possible. I've found black widows under the lip of flower pots in our back yard after picking them up and feeling a web. Also have found them in the middle of the wind-up thing for the garden hose. Evil critters.

If you want to get an idea of how many widows you got in your yard do this.

Take a black trash bag, cut it open and lay it flat with some weights on the corners in your yard next to the house. Come back a week later and flip it over. If you got a lot you will find a lot.

Used to deal with them in our fuel pits on a daily basis. They have never been aggressive that I've seen. We leave them alone and they just sit over our shoulder and let us get our work done. Had one walk up my arm once.

Found a seat cushion from a ladder stand on a plot a few weeks ago that had been blown off during the Summer. Flipped it over and there was a nice fat one.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

Damn it! I knew somebody was going to say that. It'll be three months now before I can wear a pair of boots out of my basement without feeling things crawling on me.

I found out the hard way that scorpions love to get in your hunting boots that are stored in a basement all summer. They now stay in one of my walk in closets all summer. Much to my ol lady's dislike.
