Great round, I shoot a 1895ss marlin and love it. Nearest I can compare it to would be a single shot 12ga shooting a 3" buckshot. Shooting at deer you won't notice it, however it's not something you will want to target shoot with. It does it's job well, if you hit it you get it. I prefer the Winchester 300 gr solid rounds . They're around 1800fps.
