Anyone had any run-ins with the lawman out on wheeler? Just curious if they were patrolling or not.

I was told there was one Warden working Wheeler on each side of the river and no tickets would be given for first offense since nothing was posted at the gates. I know several people that are hunting it. I do not think they will push it very much.

I looked for permits to day to check the deer regulations about it being Antlered Deer only this season, but it goes to the DOI site.

Are you serious Clem or just messing around? If so does anyone have one to verify that? Wheeler probably has as good of fawn recruitment as any place in the state. Nearly all older does I see have fawns and more usually have 2 than 1. I've heard they feel they have too many deer.

refugehunter- thanks for the reply

49er unless I read something wrong it doesn't actually give you the specifics of the game species regulations just the general regulations.

Thanks, guys. Wasn't messin' around. The "antlered bucks" had been mentioned elsewhere and sounds like it's only for flintlock season.

Good luck out there!
