They really like it at our place, feeding heavy on it. I have killed deer in Bow season , that when you field dressed them , their insides was purple from eating those berries. You can look at the bushes , and tell where they are eating , as all the low branches will have no fruit. You sure that purple color came from beautyberry, or poke salad? They hammer poke salad, and the berries will stain you hands.
