Buddy of mine missed the biggest buck he ever got a chance at because his BAR didn't fire. It was slightly out of battery.

I don't see them as doing extremely well in any category and I've never needed a second shot faster than I could work a bolt. My motto has always been, the simpler the better.

I've never fired a BAR that wouldn't shoot 1 1/2" or less @ 100 yards . My experience has been with pre 76 Belgium guns. One of the 30-06s I still have is the best shooter, will shoot 1" or less.
They tend to get heavy, and if not cleaned properly will jam on shot #2. If I were still toten a slip-o-matic, it would be a true Belgian BAR, nothin' else is close.
