I found this young spike asleep in the woods last year. I decided to see how close I could get to him(young spike). I took out my phone and videoed it. Some foul language, so if that offends don't look. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjzzK73Q0dg

During the rut, and an all night rain the night before, so I am sure he was very sleepy.

I was expecting a "hold-my-beer-and-watch-this" moment to unfold. Cool that you got all the way up to him.

A guy hunting with us forty years ago tried to cut the throat of a shot spike. He had on carhart coveralls before the fracas, had some kind of tattered mess on afterwards. He was cut and bruised all over. I learned to "waste" a shell that day.....
I once had a five year old buck with cut antlers knock me down and stomp my ass good. I couldn't stand and thought my left leg was broken. If it hadn't been for my wife and a friend I would of taken a monumental ass whoopin.....as was I limped for several days and had some good cuts and abrasions. Anyone who thinks they can whoop a mature buck barehanded is an idiot.
