I've been sitting with my 88 yo mother talking about various things and she made a comment that I hadn't heard her say in a very long time. She was describing a friend of hers who always makes a bigger deal out of things than necessary and mom said, "that woman's complaining wouldn't make two hoots in Hades" (wouldn't equal two screams in Hell)
Now, she has uttered that phrase for as long as I can remember, but it struck me funny because I hadn't heard it from her in a vey long while. She's got a lot more, too.
What other old time 'southern isms' did you guys grow up hearing?
