Clem - They are not all over the state. This is not true in Alabama. I've been hunting and camping in many parts of this state and like I said earlier I have seen zero wild pigs where I've been. People have been turning domestic pigs loose for many many years. It was a way to fatten up pigs. Then they would round em up and butcher them for winter food. True some would get away but they were hunted down and provided fun and food.

OK. State officials, farmers, hunters and landowners are all liars. They're not "all over" the state. You're right. Case closed.

Naaa, we just see a little differently about the population numbers. They're here. Just not peeking out from behind every tree, but they're here.

I don't see how I'm on thin ice. What it is is what it is. Obviously they are not all over the state in the numbers it is made out to be. They Just aren't there. In some places they may be bad. And to Elkhunter...Calhoun county is one county that doesn't have any. And other counties around here if they have any are few and far between. If there was one around here there are so many hunters they would be shot. I've been waiting for several years now waiting for they to spread as the articles have been saying but I STILL have not even seen one. When do they take over? I'd like to hunt em.

I bet you money there are pigs in Calhoun county. There are hogs on choccolocco management area, and jbhogers said they caught a sow in eastaboga the other day and he said that in this thread. I bet there ain't a million dollars or a buck over 150 inches in Calhoun county either though because you've never seen either of those. What an idot.

dadbud, I know I have read that there has been feral hogs confirmed in each of the 67 counties. No doubt some have many more than others. We have killed 218 since around the middle of March. So, obviously there are some areas with lots of hogs!

AND Like I said earlier I did see hog sign at Choccolocco but according to the article I read they were about to take over there so now I'm all geared up to do my part to hunt em and then I look at the regulations and the season is only open 4 days and then 1 week in the Spring. So I'm supposed to believe they are taking over but they won't even let me hardly hunt em. Then I go up there on a deer hunt and the place is overrun with people walking on top of each other. I don't see how a hog could survive much less there be a major problem.
And in additon to: tfd1224...Sir -maam or whatever you may be you are the idiot. The hogs in Calhoun county are very few and far between and I've been waiting for them to move in for the past 12 years. With the amount of people in this county it's hard for me to imagine hogs being able to survive.

You asked us where the hogs are and we told you and you act like we are liars. What do you think is going to happen? Do you think someone is going to read this thread and feel sorry for you and come release some pigs in Calhoun county for you to hunt. I don't get it, you are like 49'r but worse. You have no cause. If you want to see an area infested with pigs just pm elkhunter and he can take you on a guided trip or you can just sit here and continue to call us liars. Oh and by the way, I was joking with you when I said you are on thin ice.

They are all round but this one has a weak door.. We are going to repair it tomorrow and double line with more panels. That has really helped in other pens. We will be building a new larger pen with supplies from Elkhunter next week and a proper door so can't wait to see how it does.

To: tfd1224 - Son before you start calling people idiots you need to learn to understand plain English. Go back and read my first message I sent out on this post. I said I don't believe the articles I'm reading about how bad the wild pigs are in Alabama. My opinion is based on my experience. The fact is for me...I haven't seen one single pig. Next, Sonny - I'm sure not looking for anybody to feel sorry for me. Where did you get that message? I do not want wild pigs around me cause they would destroy my crops. I'd hunt em down. And no I don't want to see anything "infested" with wild pigs. That sounds bad for the environment, deer, turkey and crops.
Further - I don't doubt anybody's post they made and even with pictures about the amount of wild pigs. It appears "Some" areas do have a problem. The articles I read over the past 10 - 12 years talks doom and gloom as if they are and already have taken over the entire state. This is not true. It's that simple.
Now go bully someone else. You don't play good with others.
