In Butler County, I saw a spike pestering a doe over the weekend.
The big boys haven't started showing themselves yet.

Between Christmas and New Year's there was chasing in central Lamar County. Plenty of scrapes but few rubs have been seen on our place.

BDHunts.. we must have been sitting in the same tree (haha),because I was watching the same thing in Greenville. Seriously though I did find a couple of scrapes and rubs so I figure it's about 2 wks out for our area.

Shelby Co has different ruts, I'm hunting post rut in central part and pre rut in the east part. The little ones just started chasing, next week should be pretty good.

in washington co, I havent seen a buck on cam nor in the woods in a while. But..... i have found several scrapes on the property. So.... honestly I think its a crap shoot.

Here in Blount we've just seen our first signs of the rut, Bucks chasing, scrapes and rubs. All just started this week.

Rut seems to be starting here in south Sumter.Found lots of fresh scrapes and rubs in last 3 days.This weekend should be exciting.

It's on in Greene/Sumpter counties. Watched a buck freshen up a scrape this past week-end. Monday afternoon I had a doe check out my Tink's 69 wick and a few minutes after she passed on I grunted. A big 7 point popped his head up about 70 yds away. When I grunted a 2nd time he came in on a run shaking his head and grunting with every step. Never seen anything like it. I stood up and drew my bow but he stopped @ 20 yds partially behind a tree and saw me. Afternoon sun had me lit up. He bobbed his head a few times and then whirled and ran. Never presented me with an ethical shot. He was bowed up and ready though. Lot of fun.

Pickens county is in full swing
Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts,hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

Looks like it's hitting full stride in northern Calhoun and Cherokee counties, I had a buck get in a "grunting battle" for about an hour and a half, I have never heard a deer be this vocal, he never showed hisself until right at dark. I think he was locked up with a doe in the pine thicket.
