i would be with elkhunter and get creative. they are easy to sneak up on if you can move quietly. i would be thinkin axe, machete, spear On a hog hunt a few years ago I told elkhunter that he couldn't kill one with a machete. I lost that bet. He chased him all around the field, dug him out of a hole and killed him with a machete... Lol

Scratch one dillo! One of my Labs caught and killed one of them. Their burrow was on the side of hill under some thick honeysuckle. I saw her pushing thru there and the bushes were shaking. I didn't think much of it. Came out an hour later to find it laying dead in the yard with her laying near it, exhausted. I thought she was just tired from a fight. Then I see the honeysuckle are looked like it got hit with a bush hog and the burrow was destroyed! Itobviously ran back into the den but she decided to end it, so she dug up the burrow! Job well done. She got a big praise for her reward!

Instead of boards for the funnel to the trap, you can use black corregated pipe. Cheap and makes for a lot larger funnel.

Scratch dillo #2! Same Lab, but this time when I saw it, the dillo was punctured but still alive. I had her drop it and finished it with the ax. It's amazing how easily a sharp ax goes thru that shell!

They are almost blind but hear very well with their swiveling ears. My son used to sneak up behind them with an axe handle and skull 'em with it. It was a damn hoot to watch the stalk. Sometimes it turned into a chase and he won a few of those races too, My favorite way is the Ruger 96/22 with suppressor. The smack of that bullet on the head or shell is awesome to hear. Then comes the flipping show already mentioned

Saw a guy take a PVC Pipe and hit one with it the thing flipped over dead as a hammer.
