It just amazes me that you guys are saying the guy going the speed limit in the left lane is the jerk? How about going the speed limit and your problem is solved.

I might agree in theory toothdoc, but you try driving 70 in the left lane on 20/59/459 and you will get run over. and cause problems, move over.....
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

what i hate is when im on the interstate and get behind a string of people going 60 in a 70 and i get in the left lane to pass 5 or 6 cars while i am going at a perfectly acceptable speed of 75, which is still over the speed limit, and a bunch of asshats fly up behind me going 85 and are flashing their lights and flipping me the bird like im supposed to slow down 15 mph and move to the right and get between all of the slower drivers so they can go 85 again and wait for them to pass and then after they are done breaking the law and endangering lives,i can resume passing the people who are driving under the speed limit.

i send out a memo when i am driving for them to stay out of my lane if not the ford excursion will be put in 4wd and i will push them out of my way. don't like it then stay out of my lane. next it will be a parking lot.staying in the right lane you will see more deer.

Signs say "slow traffic stay to the right".  Black and yellow signs are advisory only and not enforceable....black and white is a different story

Scrub I swear most of the "slower traffic keep right" ARE black on white signs. I'll remember to look next time.
I travel the interstate a bunch and HATE to hold up people in the left lane. I routinely set my cruise at 76-78 and watch around me. I can usually go a LONG ways without ever hitting my brakes. I just watch and speed up to avoid getting pinched off or holding up progress.
Explain this though, I can run a set speed like that and pass and get passed back SEVERAL times by the same people. USUALLY women or democrats. I go by, 30 seconds later they come by me at warp factor 7, get back over in front of me, and SLOW DOWN! WTF? I just don't get it. It'll happen over and over. Why?

I live in Walton Co. FL and when people hit the state line on 331 or 83 they literally forget how to drive. Atlantans still think they are on 285 and its the last stretch of a NASCAR race. Not moving over, riding bumpers, insane passing, Ive seen it all around here. Folks forget we actually live here, have families, jobs, etc... The damn beach aint going anwhere, slow down!

All of these recommendations to leave early? I'm always intrigued by people on the road that seemingly have no where to be. I'm married with kids, work, go to church, attend events, have kids, work, have kids, buy groceries, have kids, hunt and fish, etc. I can't imagine a life where I wasn't always in a hurry. It has nothing to do with leaving early. It has to do with having to be in more than one place in the course of a given day. Now, if all I had to do was go to the barber shop and play dominoes on the first and third Tuesday of the month, I might just leave earlier to get there. But until then, get the heck out of the left lane.

I can't recall which color the "slower traffic keep right" signs that I've seen are, but the proper colors for enforceable signs are black/white and advisorys are black/yellow. A cop in Auburn tried to write my wife a speeding ticket once based on an advisory speed sign. When she called his bluff on it, he dropped it. You're right...mostly democrats or women on the phone responsible for second item. This Never fails to happen on any interstate trip.

There is only one place on HWY 22 between Clanton and Maplesville that is 4 lanes, and there is always somebody driving 40 and leading a long line of cars when we approach this short passing area.
100% of the time the lead car will hit the left lane. It continues to amaze me that all Chilton Countians somehow know to do this. I think somebody pays them to do it.

One thing will clear all this up....... when you get around the bozo..... pull over in front of him/her...slow down to 35/40 or whatever need be.... they will get over...... Left lane...Clear!!!

The interstate is for getting where you are going...not sight seeing. Just like people that come up merge lanes at 40. The merge lane is for building up speed to join the traffic flow....or pass as many as you can.
