Guys - Give me some ideas how to kill armadillos. We've seen one or two but just realized the damage they're doing to the lawn! Got potholes all over our property now!
What are your ideas on how to kill them? Bait?

They feed on grubs in your lawn. Kill the grubs and the armies will go elsewhere

They are not hard to trap. Use a coon size haveaheart trap without bait. I stand up 2 10 foot 2x 12s on end to make a V and funnel them in. They will follow the board into the trap.

357 rat shot is like shooting an Abrams with a 22. #8 dove loads didn't work much better. However my dogs got one by the head and tail and yanked one in two.

i would be with elkhunter and get creative. they are easy to sneak up on if you can move quietly. i would be thinkin axe, machete, spear

live trap to catch them then apply .22lr.
Take two long boards lay them in a V shape on the ground where you have seen the dillo walk. Place the live trap at the point of the V. He will funnel himself right into the trap.

Here's a tip. DO NOT get cute and shoot an armadillo with a ten dollar arrow and a ten dollar broadhead. Them suckers can run faster with an arrow sticking out of them than you think.

I shot one down in south FL MANY years ago with my bow. When I finally caught up with him in a big briar patch I had 6 alluminum arrows in him. All were bent.

I lost that bet. He chased him all around the field, dug him out of a hole and killed him with a machete...
