Get out of the left lane. Seriously, get out of the left lane.
The left lane is for passing and making left turns - that's IT.
The right lane is for driving slow, driving fast, driving while distracted, driving Miss Daisy, driving while jamming on the radio, driving while on the phone, etc. - all types of driving other than passing and making left turns.
Would anyone like to see LEO's at least write warnings for impeding traffic? Maybe the inconvenience of being pulled over would at least reduce the frequency of left lane losers.

Can you point me to the law stating that's all the left lane is for? Maybe we need 49er here. There's a lot of things that people do that anger me, but I don't think the answer is to let the police state get even more involved.

I'm with longspur. If you ain't moving on, stay out of it. Regardless of whether the law defines that lane as a "passing lane" or not, it is just common sense, decency, and situational awareness to get the hell out of it if you are causing traffic to back up. But, sadly, the number of folks that have any of those 3 things are dwindling down dramatically.
Not sure if I want any of the Alphabet Boys writing tickets for idiots causing a traffic hazard by never leaving the left lane. That might actually constitute as a public service. I'm afraid they would die of shock......

Any vehicle that is traveling at the maximum speed allowed by law cannot be defined as "slow traffic" by law unless it is being overtaken by an emergency vehicle having both visible and audible warning devices activated and traveling no more than 10 miles per hour over the maximum lawful speed. Vehicles that are traveling less than the maximum speed allowed by law are required to move to the right when overtaken by another vehicle where lanes are provided to allow more than one lane to travel in the same direction. 32-5A-82 Section 32-5A-82

The following rules shall govern the overtaking and passing of vehicles proceeding in the same direction, subject to those limitations, exceptions, and special rules hereinafter stated:
(1) The driver of a vehicle overtaking another vehicle proceeding in the same direction shall pass to the left thereof at a safe distance and shall not again drive to the right side of the roadway until safely clear of the overtaken vehicle.
(2) Except when overtaking and passing on the right is permitted, the driver of an overtaken vehicle shall give way to the right in favor of the overtaking vehicle on audible signal and shall not increase the speed of his or her vehicle until completely passed by the overtaking vehicle.

Skullworks, I didn't say anything about the law. If you are doing 75 and everyone else is doing 80 then...you...are...the...slow...traffic. wink ... and you are within the law to stay in the left lane at 70 or as otherwise allowed by law. wink wink

Well the people doing 55 in the left lane on the interstate need to move the hell over! I don't mind it as much if people are doing the speed limit but if your not doing the speed limit get out of the left lane!
