For reliability and low maintenence, an inertia driven gun is the ticket. For lower felt recoil, a gas operated gun is the way to go. There are good guns at reasonable prices in both categories. I think Stoeger makes an affordable inertia driven gun.
It's really a subjective question that has no right answer. Well, "the one that fits you best" is the right answer.
