Was thinking of buying an auto 12 ga. Was wondering what the best for the money? I heard Winchester sx3

I'd think you'll get a lot a different answers to that question...based mostly on the opinions of those giving them...if someone is a big Winchester fan, then they'll plug the Winchester shotguns...Browning, Benelli, Remington, Beretta, Mossberg...all have their own diehard fanbase. We have 3 shotguns in the house, a Mossberg 12 ga pump, a Remington 20 ga pump, and a Charles Daly 12 ga semi-auto. Of the 4 shooters in the house, all of us like and prefer the Daly. It's comfortable, reliable, and accurate. That's not to say that the Mossberg and Remy aren't, because they, too, are all of those things, but we all like the Daly, probably because it's the only semi-auto in the bunch. I'm in the market for another 12 ga semi-auto, though, so it could be that whatever I end up with there could become the new favorite...in which case I'd likely end up having to buy ANOTHER one after that!

I've had very good service out of a lot of different brands.
My personal preference are the Beretta and Remington.
I've had pretty much all of them at one time or another... brownings, winchesters franchis, Mossbergs, bennellis etc..
For the price of a good used Remington 1100 or 1187 you can't go wrong...

i am a browning fan. the a-5 i have is a great gun..the gold is a great gun.i did shoot one of the sbe of a buddy's and they are great to.never have had a Remington but shot a few.to me they just don't fit right to me...best thing if buddy up with people with different guns and try shooting each and you'll find one you like with having to buy it first.

The "best" shotgun is one that fits you right.
I shoot Beretta cause they don't kick bad and they fit me. All of the modern shotguns are reliable and "good guns".
Close your eyes and shoulder the gun like you where shooting it. Open your eyes and if you are looking down the sight WITHOUT moving your head, if fits you. If you are looking at the top of the barrel it's to short. If you are looking at the back of the receiver it's to long. If you are looking down one side, your head is crooked.....

I use a 20 gauge for doves, a 12 gauge magnum for turkeys, and a  30-06 for deer. I own several different brands, but they just don't fit. I love the sound of the bolt closing on a Belgium Browning, there is simply nothing like it in the world.

For an auto any of the big three B's (Benelli, Browning, or Beretta)
I shoot Brownings and Benelli's and the only other autoloader I would own would be a Beretta.

benelli is the best auto loading shot gun made IMO. I agree. I never really enjoyed shooting a shotgun until I got the SBE. It will cycle anything from skeet loads to 3.5" magnums, as fast as you can pull the trigger. It's well balanced, comfortable to tote all day, and fun to shoot.
I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

If I could only have one shotgun it would be my SBE. I have a Beretta .20 that I dove hunt with but the SBE will do it all.

For reliability and low maintenence, an inertia driven gun is the ticket. For lower felt recoil, a gas operated gun is the way to go. There are good guns at reasonable prices in both categories. I think Stoeger makes an affordable inertia driven gun.
It's really a subjective question that has no right answer. Well, "the one that fits you best" is the right answer.

Depends on what you are going to do with it. For dove hunting I prefer a gas gun such as a Beretta AL390/391 - GREAT trigger and soft shooting. Only complaint I have with Benellis (and I own one) is their crappy triggers.
