I go to Mobile a lot on business and I always stay at the Hampton Inn behind Providence Hospital or the Homewood Suites across the street. There are a couple of nice restaurants within walking distance and I like taking a walk through the adjacent neighborhoods. I have stayed at the Hampton Inn in Saraland but the restaurant selection is limited without driving into town.
If you stayed at the Hampton Inn in Saraland and drove "into town", then you missed all of the restaurants. The only "real" restaurants in Saraland are Wintzell's and Ruby Tuesday. There are a couple of Mexican joints and a couple of Chinese joints on Hwy 43, but I don't really care for either Mexican place and don't eat Chinese food at all. And, there's also Barnyard Buffet, but I would not recommend it, unless you own stock in Immodium AD.
