When I was doing electrical work we had a contract to do electrical repairs for the section 8's in Al Village. I HATED going down there. I would go in to check the problem and had to have my helper stay and watch the truck. If you just blink every wire and extension cord would be gone. Them bastages could steal the rims off a moving car.

That's like saying that you're headed to the Sun and you'd like a cool place to stay when you get there!

I've stayed at the Hampton near USA and never had a problem. Clean rooms, good service, never encountered any sketchy people in the parking lot or anything like that.

I go to Mobile a lot on business and I always stay at the Hampton Inn behind Providence Hospital or the Homewood Suites across the street. There are a couple of nice restaurants within walking distance and I like taking a walk through the adjacent neighborhoods. I have stayed at the Hampton Inn in Saraland but the restaurant selection is limited without driving into town.

If you stayed at the Hampton Inn in Saraland and drove "into town", then you missed all of the restaurants. The only "real" restaurants in Saraland are Wintzell's and Ruby Tuesday. There are a couple of Mexican joints and a couple of Chinese joints on Hwy 43, but I don't really care for either Mexican place and don't eat Chinese food at all. And, there's also Barnyard Buffet, but I would not recommend it, unless you own stock in Immodium AD.

Find the city of Prichard and Martin Luther King Jr Blvd on a map and draw a circle around everything within a 2 mile radius. Stay outside of that radius and you should be fine.

Gotcha...I thought you were talking about driving into the city of Saraland. Gonna say unless you enjoy BigMacs, Whoppers, and whatever Wendy's burgers are called, there isn't really any "nice" place to eat in Saraland.

The only "real" restaurants in Saraland are Wintzell's and Ruby Tuesday. The wife and I really enjoy Pintoli's for Italian, and Something Special Deli...but I guess both are actually considered to be in Satsuma rather than Saraland.

Hampton inn at providence hospital, our customers stay there. 10 minutes from USA and plenty safe. Academy is like 2 miles away as we'll as some other gun shops. Stayed at this Hampton Inn last summer when I went to a wedding down there. It's a very nice place and close to USA

Something Special Deli is in Saraland, but I forgot about it. I have lived in Saraland 40 years and can count on 1 hand the # of times I've been in there. I don't know their hours now, but they use to be open from 11am to about 2pm (lunch only) and I can't leave work to go eat. Pintoli's is good, though.

I fished a regional down there a year or two ago. Stayed in Spanish Fort. Close to BPS, but on the other side of causeway. Can't remember the name of place, but there were several hotels right there. Bunch of guys fishing the tournament stayed right around there. Never heard of any issues
