http://www.katc.com/news/scott-man-accused-of-shooting-cat-with-crossbow/#_

Quote:
A Scott teen is in jail after he allegedly shot a cat with a crossbow. Police say 19-year-old Seth Hebert shot the feline in an attempt to get rid of an excessive amount of cats near his property. Hebert has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals. He is being held in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. Bond has not been set.

How many get out of jail free cards would this board need?

They just wanted to have a hired animal control person go out there with a trap, catch the cat, make a second trip to retrieve the cat, put the cat in the Humane Society clinic for a week or two at taxpayers expense, then pay a vet to kill the same cat, all at a taxpayers expense of several hundred dollars. Should have given the kid a box of crossbow bolts. SSS

More fun to live trap, release on someone else. I dropped off untold numbers of cats, dogs, coons, possum, bobcats, squirrel and dang near every other critters in my fire chiefs back yard over the years. Passed his place on my way in every day. No trouble to release in his back yard. It was fenced and wooded, so it held the dogs and the other critters had lots of room to be free smile

I never lie. I was straight up honest about it. Never told him what I dropped off, just that I was doing it whenever he came in and complained about his kids/wife feeding them. Always said it in front of a room front of firemen. He just laughed it off.

Until his retirement party. When he complained about a dog that showed up and his wife was feeding. smile I described it to the letter, in front of the entire room, prolly 100 people.

His jaw was on the floor. I smiled, gave up the microphone, walked past him and patted him on the shoulder. Nothing he could do about it. smile
