Today is my birthday and was the second day of a 2.5 day hunt in GA. I heard only one yesterday, so I went to a spot 12 miles down the road. The fog was thick, but I heard one gobble several times in the tree. By the time I got to him, he was on the ground and had quit gobbling

I called a few times, and about 30 minutes later he finally gobbled again. I answered with the red call and he fired another gobble back at me. 5 minutes later he was 27 yds away and the right barrel of the Yildiz dropped him. He was an old bird with sharp 1.25" spurs.

I carried him to the camp and decided to check out the bird I heard yesterday. As soon as I got out of the truck, I heard him gobble, and he was in a good place. A few more yelps from the red call, and he was 41 yds away, and the left barrel of the Yildiz dropped him. He was a double bearded 2 yr old.

Its been a good day!

All the labor of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.
