Sure he gets money for his charity but that is probably a very small amount of time that he invest in that endeavor. You just have to look at how he revamped that Athletic Department when he got there. No more of that good ol boy hangin around crap. He's strictly business. Saban does the absolute bare minimum required in the glad handing department. I look at how he runs his program and I don't think he would be a good AD. There are a lot of good coaches that wouldn't be good AD's. I don't consider it a knock against him for that. Especially in the modern age of College Athletics. You've got to be more of a Business CEO than a Coach. Right now Saban has an Iron Fist Micro-Managed way of running things. That is great for a solitary program. I don't think he's the monster that everyone makes him out to be either but I just don't see that transitioning into running an Athletic Department.
Not to mention you go from making $5 Million to making $500K. Nothing like a 90% pay cut to make it appealing.
