Saban would be horrible as an AD. He doesn't have the personality or temperament to go begging for money and working the chicken dinner circuit. If you could break it up into separate jobs such as glad-handing beggar and evil overlord. Saban would probably do OK as the Athletic Evil Overlord.
And you're basing this on what? Certainly not the fact that he has raised millions of dollars for his and other charities. People act like all he does is yell at players on the practice field all day. I'm pretty sure he does plenty of glad-handing as it is.
What I don't think he has is any desire to be an AD. If he did, he would make a great one IMO.
