Lol! I hope you're right Demp but that would be a first for me! They better start gobbling or I'm gonna be doing a whole lot of blind calling this weekend!

I'm thinking about skipping class tomorrow night to go see if I can roost one. I know about where one was last weekend so that'll probably be my starting point. The new club I'm in is mainly big woods, 3200 acres of big woods and maybe 17 food plots ranging from 1/2 acre to 1 acre.

I failed us this morning fellas, I missed. I stumbled up on 2 that had to be blind and def and got my gun on then down a step ridge and shot right over the front gobbler! Crap not the preferred way to kill one but I sure wished I'd rolled him

I messed up my work schedule and had to miss this morning. MarkBama and I are in the same club and were going to hunt the same general area....he heard no gobbles and said I missed nothing at all. I'll be out there tomorrow.

I need to be taken to a public square and be slapped across the back with a cane switch about 15 times because I missed again and this one hurts. I got right under a whole flock of birds this morning, they started gobbling at 6. They pitched down and immediately started spitting and drumming. Me and the boss hen got to cutting at each other and they gobbled their heads off right below just out of sight about 60 yards. After being quite for about. 30 minutes I could hear them spitting and drumming and coming on up the hill. Finally saw the hens, they went back down to the gobblers so i decided to get aggressive and cut real hard. It worked they both gobbled and come running right up hill to me. There heads cleared the lip and I picked out the first bird and almost shot but backed off because the 2nd gobbler was right beside him. Finally he cleared and I shot and MISSED. I just sat their disgusted and in disbelief. The only thing I can think of is they were closer than I thought and I shot high. I could wrap my gun around a tree right now, I should have us 2 dead gobblers

Hang in there demp! I called one up to 30 steps for my wife yesterday and she missed. Hopefully this week will get them started gobbling down here. It's been mighty slim so far.

And a lil bad luck. Thursday I was gonna shoot my gun to make sure everything was perfect for Friday and blew it up, literally scrap metal blown up! Swelled receiver and busted barrel. Then broke 3 toes and some bones in my foot Friday night when I got out of bed to set my alarm . It's hell pulling my boots on in the morning but I'm still limping after them.

Damn Hank, was the barrel plugged? Or were you shooting Nitros? You have had some crappy luck so far. I couldn't imagine trying to put on snake boots with broke toes! OUCH

Yea it hurts a little bit! Lol! If the turkeys were gobbling it would make my foot feel better. We haven't heard 10 gobbles in 4 mornings combined.

I had actually just patterned my first ever nitro and loved it. The shell that blew up on me was a hand load my cousin gave me to shoot to compare to the nitro.

Heck this team ought to be known as the Bad Luck Bears. I should be up in Alabama this Friday through the following Sunday and hope to get on the board. I will hunt every morning so if any of my teamates want to make the drive and come try to shoot one let me know.My property is in Dale County, just north of Ozark. Stoney can verify that sometimes there is one or two on my place.Whether they are talking or not is another question.

Looks like horrible weather up here this weekend starting with below freezing temps and a chance of snow tonight! Rain chances are about 60-70% all weekend but maybe it'll be good for you fellas down south and we can get some points on the board.
Good Luck
