Pontoons aren't that heavy. A regular 1/2 ton, with a 5.3 will work fine too.
This ^^^^^. Just make sure you have a trans cooler and it'll do what you want without any problems.
Not much difference between a reg 1500 and a 1500HD. The weight is on the trailer. To really do the heavy lifting ya gotta go to a 2500HD or heavier, but sounds like you don't need that much truck. IMO
