6.0= 11 mpg
8.1= 7-8 mpg
if you buy the 8.1 i hope you fall in love with it because it will be very hard to find a new home for it.
You say that. But I found a nice GMC with the 8.1 in Chattanooga, and it was gone in a few days. I've read that the 8.1 does get worse mpg when unloaded. But they say that when loaded, it get's about the same as the 6.0.
Don't know if you have any interest at all, but there's a crew cab F-250 4x4 for 11,500 just up the road from my place. Good looking truck and seemed like a fair price to me. I think it is a 2005
