Poacher, it aint just about the top pros. It's every Saterday at every major boat ramp in the spring, and summer.

I get to the boat ramp and am told to wait until all of the tourny fishermen have launched thier boats. When I finally get my boat in the water there is nowhere to park.

Aperently the faster they go the more fish they catch. pull up to a spot throwing wake all over whoever is around, make 3 cast and then try to swamp your boat again.

Pull up and start fishing right infront of you.

When back at the boat ramp, get preached at about catch and release, while they waistfully thow back dead fish. At least I cook mine.

While it is true that noone owns the public waters, this crap makes it very difficult to enjoy fishing in bodies of water near my home, when being flooded with out-of-towners coming to fish favorite places of mine just for competition. Afterall he is trying to make a few bucks on places that I like to go to relax on my day off work.

Yes, I know all tourney fishermen do not think this way, but it is the majority of them, or is at least enough of them to cause major headaches.

If it's a public ramp tell them to go screw off and launch your boat.

I tell you what pisses me off more than anything with bass fishermen, They are all catch and release, especially the local guides on the lake. They fish probably 200 days per yr and I'm sure they deep hook many or pull them from the deep and let them drift off alot, but the same buttholes will raise a pissy fit when an average once a week or every other weekend fisherman keeps a few fish for their own consumption, which is totally legal. They have even wanted to push the conservation dept to lower the creel limit to 5 fish for recreational fishermen over the past two yrs. The pro fishermen and guides are what hurt bass fishing in Lake Guntersville, not the average seldom keep a few Joe. I have seen ramps all over the lake with floating fish that were released by reputable tournament associations. Yeah, some go out of their way generally BASSS and FLW, but most of the 20 or so more tournaments on G every weekend could care less about fish care, but they will bitch when they see a non tournament fishermen put one in the livewell. The big bass Splash, 3 yrs ago, had over 9 rolling large ice chests full of fish that they took off during the tournament (and that was on Saturday only), Waterfront constantly has dead bass floating in the cove all summer as does Roseberry and Mink Creek, so no one can say that they all try soo hard to protect their fish at all cost, (pure BS), I have lost very few in my livewell over the yrs, and my boat isn't a 50K fiberglass one. That is the whole problem I have with bass fishing on the lake now, and that is why I'm liquidating all of my bass fishing crap.

Liquidate it my way lol. And i remember the splash tourny your talkin bout. I was workin goosepond at the time. If im not mistaken that tourny was in like july or august? Water temps were high. And i think they was still doin 5 fish at the time instead of three. Cant remeber 100% tho. I may be wrong. That had a factor in all the dead fish. But your rite there was at least a hundred dead floaters

Until tournament bass fishermen and tournament organizations boycott tournaments in the summer, they're the most hypocritical sportsmen on the planet. Period.

I just dont get the hype. Thats just WAAAAAY too far to be carrying those fish. Those fish are handled so much and out of the water way too long. The hype($$$) has become more important than the resource or the sport. Much like Quality Deer Management.
