After closely looking at the "kill" PICS and then the "mount" PIC I believe for some reason a different cape was used on the mount.
Maybe the guy toted it around too long showing it off and the cape ruined. In the "kill" PICS the buck has lots of white above his nose and also above his eyes. The "mount" pic cape does not appear to have the white.
Maybe the "mount" PIC is just not close up enough or clear enough to tell but does look like a different cape to me.
Not trying to insinuate anything at all with my observations, just saying I believe the cape is different. Could also explain the quick turn around on the mount.
All controversy aside, still a doggone nice buck!
