We shot does off of food plots for a few years when the liberal doe season started and it got to where we were seeing very few deer in food plots and killing zero bucks in plots. After a lot of debate we made it to where only children that had never killed a deer could kill a doe off of a food plot for their first deer and that is the way it is today with the exception that we added one food plot that any member could shoot one off of which is located in the very corner of our property. We are now back to seeing deer in our food plots and most of our buck harvests come off food plots.I believe that if you hunt somewhere that has a large deer population you can harvest does off food plots but if you hunt in an area that is way below carrying capacity I think it is a bad idea.
