O.K. Guys just wanted your thoughts on this. I have to disagree with most of your reasoning on this idea. I have been deer hunting for over 40 years and managing leases for over 20. i have had my present lease of 920 acres on QDM for 8 years now with 120 acres of this across the road being bucks only. i have seen no difference in any of our sightings of bucks or does over the years that i would consider being the result of shooting does on fields or not. i do think that a lot of this has to do with location, pressure and deer density. i had 5 does in the field at 4:30, shot the biggest one (#125) and at 5:05 the other 4 were back in the field. At 5:35 a 7 point came running in,ran off the does and was headed towards the down doe in the field when i busted his a##. So i don't buy the doe greenfield stuff. Just wanted to know if you guys knew something i didn't. Don't think so! THANKS
is this one of many similar experiences you've had or was this a unique situation? Reason I ask is most of us have had the occasional experience where we shot a deer and the other deer didn't run off, or shoot a doe during the rut and a buck comes in a minute or two later. I think it's common sense that if you shoot your gun on a plot/ track a deer in a plot/ get winded in a plot, etc. deer will start to pattern you and in turn you will see less deer using the plot.
