Boy I am glad to see this thread. This very subject is up for debate on our club and T certainly need your input here. T believe this has been our problem for years. Our thought process has been to shoot as many does as possible in order to get the b/d ratio tighter,,,but what has happened is that we hardly ever see does anymore after a few are taken. It's becoming painfully obvious now.

I started hunting more in the woods this season and always saw deer. My sightings were generally in the 8-10 am hours..and whenever I took someone with me,,i'd tell them to sit till at least 10 am. This worked out for a guest as he took a nice 8pt,,cruising around at 9:30 am. I believe most others at our place generally get there about daylight and sit till maybe 8:30 if they havent seen anything..in my experience, they are leaving at the start of the best times to be there.

We've got way too much exposure on our plots. The houses are directly on top of the plot (well, right on the edge,but in well clear visibility). Some plots have roads going thru them...several houses are postioned where your entrance to the plot requires you to walk all the way across the plot. I believe my game cam activity plays into this as well. Cams are in the plot as well and a lot of times I'm in there checking them after a hunt. Please feel free to make your suggestions here,,,rant/rave/rail all welcomed as well!

I believe all of this must be evaluated and a new method should be considered. I'm not of the thought to take out shooting does all together, but I believe a lot of work could be done to free up some of the pressure and exposure we're putting on the green plots.
