My brother and I went down to the Union Springs area to check out a few properties, set a few traps, and do some scouting. Of course we carried some guns as well. My brother was able to get the first two of the season. Sure was great to get out there again. We were riding through the woods and happen to see some hogs out in an oak flat. The stalk was on. He got two and I got skunked.

Good looking hogs. Looks like he is shooting a R-25. What caliber? I just bought mine in a 7mm-08 haven't got it out and shot it yet.

Killed 13 this weekend.
Total is up to 39 now.
We have only killed 1 hog from a stand so far. All the rest have been spot and stalk.
Edit note: Forgot about the 3 my brother killed Friday afternoon.

Barry, I smoked one of the young pig hind quarters. It was awesome. Thanks for hooking me up. I am a little irritated that you brought up Archery Unlimited. I went in a couple days ago and now I'm convinced I need a new carbon element bow, sights, rest and a new release. Hopefully I get a turkey this weekend with my bow then I have to man up and take it in to get restrung without walking out a couple grand lighter.

Up to 71 now. Haven't been doing much the past couple of weekends. But, hopefully we will be full throttle real soon. Did get 3 traps out last week. That should really start to help the totals.
