I tell you what I like to do... I like to try and catch the dog, feed it, and then call the owner. I wait until they are pulling up and then i blast those mangy muts right in front of the dumbass in bred hunters and giggle as i watch their face go into shock! It is hysterical!! They have that same look that they get when their mom walks in on em with their sister! They cant really do anything about it cause i'm retired special forces and everyone around here know what i'm capable of. Guess what? My dog problem has been solved!! Sounds like a good way for someone to put a bullet between your eyes. Idiot

Sounds like they should have had better control of their dogs. Not condoning the shooting of the dogs, but if you're willing to let your dogs run deer on someone else's property then you best be prepared to deal with the consequences. you still don't shoot the dogs, you confront the owners. that's right !!!! you kill ever deer the dogs are running and tell the dog owners thank you . lol BS...Friend of mine was on his families 2000+ acres...killed a good buck ahead of some dogs...When he got to the main road at his gate, about 10 trucks from another State had it blocked...one of the toothless bastards got out with a stick in one hand and an 1100 in the other and started hitting my buddies fender, saying aint NO, *&^%$#'er gonna shoot a buck ahead of his )(*&^% dogs demanding Buddy give up his deer....Buddy stayed in truck, called SO....about 5 mins later 4 SO cars showed....being as Buddy was Chief Deputy...didn't take long...about half the dentally challenged bunch got to ride in the Crown Vics....every truck was impounded towed and stored at owners expense...Dog hunters had a ancient 12x70 on 3 acres which bordered a NF but they hunted the adjacent properties by running their mutts on their land...No licenses, trespassing on 3 of them, threatening law officer with a deadly weapon ...and about 100 other charges...something shorted out in trailer, only the frame was left...Moral of the Story...BAD dog hunters are gonna ruin it for all dog hunters well ,,, i never had such a problem but i always thank them though .

I saw where someone posted about having a minimum acreage. I wish i could report that helps. But in geneva county we have that. A minimum of two hundred acres. Do u know how fast a pack of dogs go through a two hundred acre tract. It has actually made it easier for the dog hunters to gain access to land beside other properties that dont wont them on there so they can run through the landowners land who dont allow it.

Dogs run the scent.....the deer choses where to run!!!! why i loved being the dog guy , the dogs left a lot of deer behind . you wanna move the deer , get a few guys with milk jugs to walk through the woods and you'll see deer go . lol

You should not have to use ANYTHING to persuade people to enforce the Law. What law was broken? Here the dog owners would be in violation for allowing their dogs to run loose. false !!!!!

I have lots of coyote dogs run through us during season. Doesn't seem to bother our deer one bit. We still kill plenty of big bucks and does.
A friend hunts public land that and is surrounded by rabbit hunters every weekend. Yet they kill all the deer they want(and some big ones) every year.
I guess these Alabama deer are different. the deer here are the same , i've hunted land that was rabbit hunted ,coon hunted and deer hunted with dogs and saw plenty of deer killed

Best deer drive I ever saw was 10 deputies with 3 tracking dogs and a helicopter come across our place we hunted in Bullock County.  years back i killed a nice one by a chopper flying over a clear cut low . that thump thump thump got him moving .
