This thread is absolutely ridiculous and full of assumption! Is there anyone on aldeer that can verify the dog owners had been warned or nicely asked to keep their dogs away from the property??? NO! Is there anyone on aldeer who can prove the dogs weren't released a mile away from the still hunters lease??? NO!!! It's sad that it assumed by the majority on here that these guys turned their dogs out to run across someone's property and ruin their hunt, don't get me wrong I completely agree that the redneck outlaw throw some mutts in the truck bed and send them that way hunters are out there, but why would a guy invest near 1k on GPS tracking system for his deer dogs if he isn't a serious hunter? Everyone knows the chances of dogs getting shot during hunting season hell if I had caught a dog and talked to the owner and it become a reoccurring event I would more than likely kill the dog not for being on my land because the dog doesn't know better but to prove a point to a negligent dog owner be it a house or hunting dog and inform the owner but I also wouldn't lease a small tract of land and be asinine enough to think that if the land bordering me is dog hunted that the people who hunted the land and have hunted it would have some magical way to make the deer not run through my lease and people saying they're turning them out on our property line well I would want them to that'd increase the chance of them not running on to you, the people being accused of this could be trying to keep the dogs off of you by turning them loose at the line and sending them the opposite direction! Who's to say the deer aren't circling around??? The GPS tracker would and it sounded to me has if the guy was trying to get to his dogs to prevent them from crossing the line I guess they were just 400yds to late! I for one also don't understand how dog hunting is the cheap & lazy way out. A quality pup could cost up to a thousand dollars for a registered dog which I assure you some legitimate hunters run, high protein feed for hunting dogs is $30-40 a sack and multiple dogs means multiple sacks a week plus many other cost that goes along with taking care of a animal. You also have to feed these animals daily along with watering and kennel upkeep, doesn't seem to cheap to me! I hardly ever post on this site but I do enjoy monitoring it because there is normally some interesting topics that don't get blown out of porportion like this one has. I really hope some of you re-read the thread and realize how ridiculous and narrow minded some of these post (maybe even your own) are. None of us here know how many acres the dog hunters had or where they released the dogs or what direction they sent them in. Also none of us know if they hadn't been warned and that they didn't purposely send the dogs that way. Also those who don't agree with leasing land away from known dog hunting areas if you don't want to deal with it, would you rent or buy a house near a airport if you didn't want to have a lot of noise and then bitch everytime a plane takes off or lands or if you didn't want anyone on your property would you buy/rent a home near a sports complex and bitch because someone walked through your ditch to get to their vehicle after a game??? Still hunters leasing land next to dog hunters & dog hunters leasing land next to still hunters is like jumping in a barrel of rattlesnakes and getting surprised you got bit. I care neither way how any of you feel about the topic but I do feel that both groups should have equal rights and outlawing dog hunters should be punished. I also believe that communicating and trying to be gentleman like to the neighboring landowner/leasie would go a long ways. It wouldn't be hard at all to introduce yourself and exchange numbers 99% of people I know that fool with deer dogs would gladly work with you on not running while your hunting and realistically unless you have just thousands of acres there's no guarantee the dogs won't cross a property line I'm sure most would even invite you has to where a extra stander never hurts but maybe some choose to stereotype ( on both groups sides) and have no intrest in being civil or logical about it.
Whats ridiculous is your post. I can tell you the names of everyone of the dog hunters who turn their dogs loose to run all over the country. There have been numerous conversations between us about their dogs and they could care less. And there names have been given to the GW with nothing being done about it.
I can tell you the exact point and acreage using a plot map that they released them on.
And I dont lease.I own the land and the dogs hunters moved in on me.Because they know from years past the kind of bucks I have killed on my property because I put the time and money into my land to hold them there. And the dog hunters do their best to run them off of my land onto land they hunt. You are just a dog hunter who is trying to justify the wrong doings of dog hunters.
