Why is not just common sense to not lease land that is surrounded by dog hunting clubs if you do not want to hear dogs run?
Why is it not common sense for dog hunters not to lease land that is surrounded by stalk hunters if they do not want their dogs shot......

With all the tracking collar technology why cant a collar be developed which allows a virtural barrier to be programmed in where the property lines are so the dogs will get shocked and stop running? Kinda like the buried wire dog fencing. Just an outside the box thought.

On the first question, you're very naive if you don't think this happens on a regular basis from opening day of gun deer season to January 15th every season.
Back before they pretty much banned it altogether in Winston county it started about a week before BOW SEASON. Of course they were just "training their dogs". GW was told dozens of times and said he couldnt do anything unless he caught them with a gun. My response was that he need to brush up on the law. The definition of hunting according to the law is shooting, chasing or otherwise disturbing wildlife.
Lead, follow or get the HELL outa the way!

It can. They make perimeter type wireless fences, or underground fences. I don't know that an idea like that would be well received by dog hunters, but releasing dogs on property that they know the dogs won't stay on ain't too well received either.

There's more to that story, I guarantee you. Most likely.... Anything mentioned about defending themselves? We don't know .... it doesn't say. How do we know the dogs didn't turn on them when they were walking out? Can a man not use deadly force to defend himself against an animal? Or does that only apply to killing another human when your life is in danger? If that's the case, these laws need to be re-written.

Im not a dog hunter but I don't agree with fellow hunters adding fuel to the fire for taking rights away from hunters. There are just as many tresspassing still hunters as tresspassing doggers. But no one here is saying ban still hunting because of the bad still hunters, because that would put an end to the way you hunt.
Im sure a few here would be singing a different tune if your family pet steped in your nieghbors yard and caught a 12 guage slug in the dome.
The world needs more people holding deer in pictures, and less people holding cameras in front of mirrors.

I would like to see some penalties for the dog owners for their negligence, just like there are penalties to still hunters for poaching/trespassing. I had a neighbor shoot my dog (best friend of six years at the time). So, it would be difficult if not impossible for me to shoot someone's dog, but I sure as hell understand why others would.

I for one agree with your logic. Our place has been still hunted for 100 years. So has all our neighbors. But one guy has 380 acres that sits in the middle of all us and the guy leased it out to dog hunters. I'll use every hunting, stalking, & shooting skill (or luck) to kill every dog that comes off that property. I can't believe they were stupid enough to lease that property; you know seeing we've been set in our legal ways for all these years.
not sure what the best way to handle them is but they shouldnt be on tv and gettn married and raisin kids

Well where we run dogs I can't say they stay on our own land 100% of the time, but I would say 90% easy. The land we hunt is owned not leased, and we don't use CB's, don't have no 4x4 and we try to respect neighbors, we are not perfect, but we dang sure try our best to stay legal and get along with people. I also know they are bad apples in every bunch of hunters, I just hope they don't completly shut doggin down because of IDIOTS!!

I'm just talking chit, it wouldn't bother me a bit for anyone that has shot a deer to cross over on to my place to get it, but all this talk about killing dog's suck's. If you wanna get your point across why don't you try and whip 7or 8 of them good ole boy's that turned the dog's loose? I have 2 coon dog's that I raised and Chuck Norris better think twice before shooting one.

what if a dog (pit bull) keeps coming up in your yard. that your kids play in all the time. and you call the owner down the road and he does nothing about it time after time. do you take the chance that the DOG just leaves next time or something clicks and he attacks one of your kids!I would cap his ass and haul him off!! So killing a dog ant a big deal so get over it people! It dont matter if it is a pit bull or a hound dog! a dog is a dog! them hunters just got sick of it and took matters into thier own hands!

Yeah but heres the thing. When I go hunting I stay on my land 100% of the time and do not disturb anybody else who may be hunting. So to me that 10% of the time that your dogs mess up someone elses hunt or disturb there land is unacceptable. Because then you always get the famous quote from the dog hunters. "Well they just got away from us".
