Ive got the commando also. Love it, been washed in the washing machine once and been through many house fires, seems to hold up pretty well to the abuse. Hope they come out with a newer version of.

Droid Bionic. They have been phased out but love it. Its as big as the newer ones and 4G, fast, etc. Just get an otterbox Defender and anything you get will last forever. Mines been through alot but take the box off and there isnt a scratch or ding...brand new.

iPhone 4S with a Griffin survivor case. It took a 20' fall out of my harness pocket and never missed a beat. It helped tremendously that it landed in a pile of pine straw though.

Got the iPhone 5 and love it. I need a Lifeproof case though....would hate to cough up $750 to replace it if I destroy the thing!

Like most posts above this. I think the life of the phone depends more on the case you place it in. Protect the investment.

It's well worth the investment. Takes a couple days to get used to it though. They are much lighter than the otter box and are definitely waterproof (trust me on that).

That's replacement cost. I paid $199 with a new 2 year contract and opted out of the insurance. With no insurance the replacement out right cost is $750.

I phone 4s with lifeproof case here. I also have the life jacket for the case. It's a blaze orange foam jacket that you put around the phone and case if you are going to be on the water and it will make your phone float if you drop it in the water.
Yeah cmon. Daniel White

I used a lifeproof case for a while but had some problems with it, it kept getting lint and dust up in it and was a booger to take off and clean, which they recommended not doing.
That and I couldn't hear a fat lady scream if I was on a phone call with her turned me off from them. These things may have been addressed for the 5 cases but I don't know for sure.

I've heard about poor sound quality with Lifeproof too. What can you expect from something that is fully sealed and waterproof?

The sound quality is not effected much at all that I've noticed. I've had mine for a while now and I never have a problem hearing the caller.

I had HTC with droid and loved it. I think maybe apple struck some exclusive deals on apps that I could use at first (with my HTC), but not by the time they released the iphone 4S. Those apps were only available with iphones after that. So I switched to the 4S and liked it just as much as the HTC. My only complaint with apple is that the 5S changed all of the chargers and the size just enough that you have to get new lifeproof or otterboxes, etc. My wife got the 5S and it has an odd charger. She has to take the lifeproof case off just to get charger to plug in. It's a pain.
