I lost that good one with a bow early on, shot under a big one the day after Christmas, and now this evening I shot a good 8 that bled awhile and we jumped him and lost blood. Going back in the morning to look. I am ready to hang it up.

I did manage to find a good 8 and biggest deer to date I shot on the last evening of the season last year. Skull and horns are perfect. Sad to find them like that, but part of it.

I feel ya man... it's been a rough one for me as well. "Part of it" is the best way to put it. I always try and remind myself that things can change at any second........... as long as you're in the woods. Perseverance pays off.

Keep on keepin' on. I've had a rough one myself but I know of two bucks in my area that would flip it to one of the best seasons ever if I could get one of them down. Lets tighten up the belts and put it to 'em from here 'til the end.

Do you mean bad as in not being able to capitalize on your chances at good ones or bad as in slow year not seeing much?

Hang in there. I've got a buddy who got down on himself for a little while this season. Killing a doe seemed to get him back in the swing of things...

257 Weatherby mag I got to shoot these fields. I shoot all the time, I don't know what the deal is. Kill deer that far every year. I can't catch a break I do know that.

Hey look at the big picture........your hunting season is alot better than pushing daisies 6 ft in the ground. thumbup

You just have to view it from a different perspective. Then it seems like a good season.

Oh yeah, I am better today. Glad I am getting opportunites, just got to do better. I got called in to work 12 hours last night after I looked around all day yesterday with no sleep. That wasn't much fun.

FastXD, I have found me a new spot I think I can have just as good entrance and exit as I do now but will be much closer. That is my main concern and why I am so far back right now. Going to change that after the season.

Don't worry, everyone I talk to is having a similar season, its un-explainable. The club I hunt the deer sightings have been down probably 80% from normal. Two guys just went in for a hardcore 4 day - all day hunt. THese guys were on a mission to kill a good deer. They hunted all day, everday and from the report I got they 5 deer from stand total, in 4 days, with 2 people hunting. One good buck chasing a doe one afternoon, no shot. They say the woods are torn up with scrapes, but nothing is moving in the daylight. Hard to get excited about going Saturday, but headed that way. This is Sumter county. Anyone seeing in action over there?

That's it! Great advice! There's lots of things much worse. Obama could've been re-elected and coming after our guns! Or you could have lost all access to your hunting land! Or your kids could be sick.

Count your blessings! ; )

Not sure your intention. You have to understand my side of the story. I've been stationed overseas and missed YEARS of ENTIRE hunting seasons. I have a different perspective. Carry on.
