Last 7-10 days of season. Don't know what phase that's after. wink

Thanks man. i always here people say the second is 2 weeks after the first. But you dont really know when to really start counting 2 weeks because all of us have a certain point when we think the rut is. Some think its when they are following and some think its when they are chasing. Really none of that is the actual breeding. Thats really the "hunters rut". I think the actual breeding takes place after the chase and when deer sightings go down.

Several bucks hit the ground at our club in Jackson Co last week. None were with does and several people saw bucks together. My brother killed an 8 point that was with a spike and a 5 point.

Don't know about 2 week periods. The areas I've hunted in Jackson are about Dec 27-Jan 5 is prime time. Then 28 days later for 2nd breeding. Our fawns start hitting the ground around 3 rd week of July. count back 200 days and that puts it right around Jan.1.

Let me add, about Jan. 10 it usually slows down till about the 20th, then second breeding period gets cranked up. Always some dandys killed about the last 10 days of season. Of course all these days can shift a few days each way but year in year out in areas of Jackson I've hunted this is what I've observed.
