I killed a 4.5 year old in Wilcox Co in 1974 er so , along the river next to Roy Childers place. I thought he would go easy 140, shot him at 95 yards in a BIG hardwood flat. Rack scored 115, deer weighed 130.
Worse, I killed gobbler with an 10.25 inch beard, 1" spurs that live weighed 12.5 pounds.....in Greene Co. He was not skinny, just small like my wife ran him three times in the dryer like my shirts she likes....
Pretty country on Childers place - planted some trees for them last year. RE gobbler, killed one this year that had standard 10" beard and 1" spurs but everything else was small - frame, breast, tail feathers, wing feathers, head, short legs, and weighed all of about 13-14 lbs. ...it happens!
