ive been an avid deer hunter for about 10 years now, ive always been able to go anytime i wanted, but this year for some reason almost enerytime ive wanted to go something has prevented, mostly my friggin stubborn no good fer nuthin ex wife. but i have managed to go 5 times, and iive only seen 2 does this year, not had a shot at all either,ive never killed a buck, but ive also never been able to really put myself in a spot or had the means to be in a nice club. with all that said my main means of hunting is to get meat,but hopefully next year i can batten the hatches down and trail me a maounter.

It'll get better. I've had seasons where I didn't see any deer.

It takes two seconds to go from a crappy year to a great year, keep ur chin up, can't kill em on the couch , hunt when u can

Couple years back a buddy of mine seen one deer on opening morning then proceeded to not see anything for the remainder of the season. That was until the last two days of season when he killed two wallhangers. One fine looking 10pt and a sho-nuff fine 7pt.

Dude key word is EXWIFE. Tell her to stick and go hunting. She sure as hell can't put you on the couch now. Don't worry the best hunting is the last two weeks of Jan anyway.

This year has been the least I've hunted in 15 years. I've hunted 7 times. Three of those times I did not see deer. The other 4 hunts I saw a combined 39 deer. It has been a strange year no doubt.

Hang in there been in same club for 20yrs this is worst year ive had. Told my buddy at lunch this is the first weekend ive actually been able to relax and enjoy this year. This also only my 5th day to hunt but jan. Is a day away!

If she's using children to screw up your hunting, enjoy that blessing while you can. Regardless of her intentions, nothing in the deer woods can ever replace the very limited time that you have with your kids. They'll be grown in the blink of an eye.

I realize this is completely speculation on my part, but I've been through it and it just sounds eerily familiar to me. I was very young when I divorced and, my ex didn't make it easy for me to hunt. I pushed back and hunted as much as I could. I remember very little about those hunts, but I remember everything about the time I spent with my daughter. I only wish I had spent more time with her when I had the chance. She's 20 years old now and it went by fast. I love deer hunting today just as much as I did back then, and the hunts are no different now than they were then. But in contrast, spending time with a 20 year old daughter is completely different than spending time with a 3 year old.

I don't even know if you have kids, but if you do, enjoy every second with them. I hope it works out well for you. There's plenty of deer hunting left this year and for years to come.
